Research Interests
Our research is concerned with the application of methods of computational chemistry to solve problems of structure and function pertaining to transition metal systems’ ground and excited states. We are particularly focused on studying complexes containing the corrin macrocycle such as vitamin B12 and its derivatives. Our work can be grouped into three general emphases photochemistry and reactivity, enzymatic catalysis, and methyl transfer reactions.
We have several collaborations with experimental groups within the University of Louisville chemistry department, the University of Louisville School of Medicine, the University of Michigan, and abroad. In addition, we have several collaborations with other theoretical groups from Poland and Norway.
